The Bright Man Laughs, Victorious

I have only but death now
Communion with the Eternal Creator
Happiness everlasting
And, what is more, meaning, answers

I know your damned pursuits
I know the smell of green Benjamin
I know the hot glare of stage lights
I know man

And yet, I continue. Why?
Achieving His will, that is why
I crave ankle bites, future noble namesakes
E’en knowing full well impending futility

What are fifty years against ∞?
Hasten it, I say
Fire burns the soul, the ancient texts reply
Inward knives are always punished

Corrupted → Every saint’s achievements
The bright man laughs, victorious
Crush him, my Lord
End this madness
